COASTAL CONSERVATION
Story-driven Coastal Conservation
In 2014, I was thrilled to learn I had been accepted into the Ocean Artist's Society by Wyland, Guy Harvey and Bob Talbot.
The Ocean Artists Society (OAS) is a group of over 400 conservation-minded artists including painters, photographers, and sculptors, who are dedicated to using marine-themed art to promote ocean conservation. Founded to inspire change through visual media, the society highlights the beauty of marine life and the dangers of pollution.

The love and romance of the ocean serve as the inspiration behind the vibrant coastal imagery found in my artwork. This influence became the foundation for an entire body of work from 2010 - 2017 titled “The Bluewater Rendezvous”, a series created to celebrate the coastal lifestyle while drawing attention to the natural beauty and ecological importance of our shorelines.
This series explores the relationship between people and the sea, emphasizing both the visual harmony and the delicate balance that exist between human life and the ocean environment. It is intended to remind viewers of our shared connection to the marine world and the fragile ecosystems that exist just beyond the shoreline. The natural boundary where air meets water often creates a sense of separation, making it easy to overlook the rich and equally delicate world that exists beneath the ocean’s surface.

In 2011, Nature is a beautiful, priceless work of art that should be protected from human waste/litter. Our artwork seeks to share are our fascination with Florida’s beaches and instill sense of urgency and passion to protect beaches from littering We used a visual representation of litter/waste collected from Florida’s beaches to provide a visual memory, which triggers a sense of moral responsibility and proactiveness to protect Florida’s beaches from litter.
