CONCEPT SKETCHES       3D RENDERINGS        VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCES

Experience

A lifetime of hand and computer generated art experience gives me the ability to create 3d visualizations quickly and efficiently.  Quick hand drawn concepts help communicate design intent within minutes, and show a variety of potential options without dedicating too many resources.  3d computer generated scenes take a more realistic look, with the opportunity to explore materials and color, and virtual reality allows for rapid prototyping of space layout experience, and visualization of flow, sight-lines, and proportions.

Concept Sketches: Pencil Sketches of Residential Wine-Club Gate House Concepts

Working with a land developer in Napa Valley, I was tasked with creating architecture concepts of gate house, and three 10,000+ square foot homes for marketing and sales for a Wine Club Community Residential development.  Below are three versions of the security gate house concepts.

Concept Sketches: Pencil Sketches of Commercial Concept for Historic Caribbean Village Visitors Complex

I designed the facades of a series of buildings that surround a main courtyard entrance into a themed caribbean village from the late 19th century.  Responsibilities included elevation drawings, themed design, time-period research, concept drawings.

Concept Virtual Tour: Pre-Construction Virtual Tour

I designed a 3BD 3 BA home with 2,100 s.f. of space in AutoCAD, along with exterior elevations, and used Sketchup to build a 3D model.  Here, the 3D model is imported into the Oculus 3 headset to allow the owner to experience the layout in rapid prototype form.

Themed Concepts: Themed Hospitality Bungalow's

I designed a variety of themed bungalow concept's for a potential cottage-style resort. The design themes were geographic and period based.

Furniture & Finishes Rendering: Color Scheme, Materials, Finishes and Lighting Visualization

The image below is one example of an interior design CG rendering showing a realistic mock-up of furniture, materials, color, lighting and accessories to aid in the clients decision making process.

3D Rendering: Cutaway View of Warehouse Design Concept

Working with AB&R, I was tasked with designing the warehouse layout, logistics and 3d model for communicating the design.

3D Rendering: Cutaway View of Hotel for Water Technology Company Marketing

Watts Water Technology asked me to build a 3d cutaway of a hotel for their visualization and marketing materials that help explain how their water technology can help in various hotel structures and needs.  This expanded to additional models of a house, courthouse, office building and school.

3D Rendering:Portland Command Center Proposal

As a contractor for Hitachi Corporation's wiring technology division, I was tasked to design a concept a military installation on the coast of Oregon, that was used to show how their wiring would benefit the needs of the military.  Below is a small close-up view of the concept.

Commercial: Jet Technology Inc.
Mechanical Design and 3D Visualization of Custom Aircraft Maintenance Stands

Working with Jet Technology Inc, I converted mechanical drawings into 3d models and showed the various components and groups of structures designed to be used for maintaining a wide variety of aircraft, from the C-17 shown here, to the F-22 Raptor, private jets and more.  Animation was also used to show how the structures could be moved to and from the aircraft and stored.

Commercial: Advanced Energy
Solar Energy & Installations for Corporate Use

Working with Advanced Energy, I created CAD drawings of proposed solar panel structures for building tops, parking lot canopies, and solar farms.  Plan views were also converted into 3d site renderings showing how the new solar structures would look on site.
