Art: Art festivals, shows, traveling and selling
Between 2011 and 2018, I was creating art, and attending art festivals and shows around Florida to help support my family. I focused in the area of coastal scenic artwork, and experimented with a combination of traditional and digital drawing and painting techniques, with bright, colorful imagery. Over time, my work evolved into supporting coastal and ocean conservation efforts.

Story-driven Coastal Conservation
In 2014, I was thrilled to learn I had been accepted into the Ocean Artist's Society by Wyland, Guy Harvey and Bob Talbot.
The Ocean Artists Society (OAS) is a group of over 400 conservation-minded artists including painters, photographers, and sculptors, who are dedicated to using marine-themed art to promote ocean conservation. Founded to inspire change through visual media, the society highlights the beauty of marine life and the dangers of pollution.

The love and romance of the ocean serve as the inspiration behind the vibrant coastal imagery found in my artwork. This influence became the foundation for an entire body of work from 2011 - 2018 titled “The Bluewater Rendezvous”, a series created to celebrate the coastal lifestyle while drawing attention to the natural beauty and ecological importance of our shorelines.
This series explores the relationship between people and the sea, emphasizing both the visual harmony and the delicate balance that exist between human life and the ocean environment. It is intended to remind viewers of our shared connection to the marine world and the fragile ecosystems that exist just beyond the shoreline. The natural boundary where air meets water often creates a sense of separation, making it easy to overlook the rich and equally delicate world that exists beneath the ocean’s surface.

Project: Saving the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse
Art, Fundraising, Renovation, Conservation
In 2019, I helped raise over $100,000 in funds to save the Annapolis, MD based lighthouse from being torn down. The lighthouse needed structural renovation and facade preservation in order to save it, and after completion, the lighthouse remains open today for public tours.
Drawing: Continued drawing skill development & practice
I continue to keep my drawing skills sharp and practice drawing with pencil only, as that is the true basis for most of what I do in terms of art, design, animation and interior design.

Project: Greenwaves Music Festival, 2011, Interactive Story to Bring Awareness to Beach Trash
Nature is a beautiful, priceless work of art that should be protected from human waste/litter. Our artwork seeks to share are our fascination with Florida’s beaches and instill sense of urgency and passion to protect beaches from littering We used a visual representation of litter/waste collected from Florida’s beaches to provide a visual memory, which triggers a sense of moral responsibility and proactiveness to protect Florida’s beaches from litter.
For the 2011 Greenwaves Music Festival, three colleagues and I designed and built an interactive art installation kiosk with integrated game to bring awareness to the problem of trash being left on the beaches everyday. With garbage that was collected directly from the beach after people left for the day, We mixed it in with a sandy, coral structure, topped off with a palm leaf roof, and clear ceiling filled with water to create caustic light effects inside the kiosk for a sense of being underwater. Inside was a pile of trash on the sand, and a monitor built into the coral, along with ambient audio of underwater sounds. The monitor had an animated fish, swimming at the bottom of the sea floor, among the trash. As you pick up the physical garbage and place it in the red chute, it triggered a script in the game that deleted one piece of garbage from the game. As the garbage disappeared, the water became clearer, and more fish began swimming around in the game. The game was reset with a physical lever, that when pulled down, would drop all of the garbage you threw away back onto the sand in front of you, and the game went back to a murky, garbage infested ocean, with one unhappy fish.
